West Geauga Board of Education Special Meeting – March 30, 2026
Meeting Details: The West Geauga Board of Education met on March 30, 2026 at 8:00 am in the Board Office Community Room, 8615 Cedar Road in Chester Township. Board Attendance: Mrs. Pam Claypool, President; Dr. William Beers, Vice President; Mrs. Kathy Leavenworth, Member; Mrs. Ellen Naylor, Member, and Mr. Mark Vidmar, Member, were present.
Staff Attendees: Dr. Nancy Benincasa and Mrs. Karen Pavlat
Other Attendees: There were two other observable attendees in the front row who were not identified and did not speak. This observer attended via video streaming. Observer Note: This observer was unable to attend the meeting in person. The video recording and other Board information was used to prepare this report.
1.40 min. Opening of the Special Meeting - The Special Meeting was called to order at 8:00 am by Mrs. Claypool. The roll call was conducted, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Board Resolution - Passed

2026-03-108 Resolution to Accept the Amounts and Rates as Determined by the Budget Commission and Authorizing the Necessary Tax Levies and Certifying them to the County Auditor. Mrs. Pavlat explained that this is the final step of the budgeting process. The Board submitted a proposed budget for review by the County Budget Commission. The Budget Commission has returned an approved budget, and tonight’s action acknowledges acceptance of their document by the Board. The acceptance is due on April 1, 2026. Reviewer Note: These amounts and rates were set at the district’s 2026-2027 Budget Hearing before the Budget Commission on February 19.
