West Geauga Board of Education Special Board Meeting - 10/2/2024
Meeting Details: The West Geauga Board of Education met in Special Session on October 2, 2024 at 7:45 am in the Board Office Community Room, 8615 Cedar Road in Chester Township. This meeting was a meeting of the West Geauga Local School District Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the West Geauga Local School District’s business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 7:45 am, roll call was conducted, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

2024-10-328 Resolution to Approve the Owner-Contractor Agreement between West Geauga Local Schools and Advanced Industrial Roofing under the Ohio Council of Educational Purchasing Consortia under the authority of ORC Chapter 167 and/or Section 9.48. This contract is for roofing restoration and replacement at the Middle School.
2024-10-329 Resolution to Approve the Proposal from All Hours Mechanical under the Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) under the authority of ORC Section 167.081. This contract is for removal and replacement of domestic water boilers at the High School.

2024-10-330 Resolution to Approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the West Geauga Local School District Board of Education and the Ohio Association of Public School Employees, OAPSE Local #255. This document allows the board to create additional bus routes, and, if there are insufficient staffing levels to fill the routes, the Board may outsource the understaffed routes to a third party. Dr Markwardt stated he appreciated the cooperation of the union in moving the bus schedule issue forward. The agreement will allow the outsourcing of one established new route and two additional new routes. The agreement is in effect for a period of one year. The District will continue to heavily recruit new bus drivers.
